Standard Operating Procedure (SOP): Brunel Landing Page Upload Process on WordPress

Objective:
Ensure the consistent and accurate uploading of brunel landing pages

  1. Access the WordPress CMS:
  • Open your web browser and navigate to the WordPress CMS of Brunel (find this in Lastpass).
  • Log in with your username and password. (again, find this in Lastpass if you have been set up)
  • If you do not have access, please speak with JJ, who will be able to create you as a user

  1. Navigate to the Pages Section:
  • From the WordPress dashboard, hover over “Pages” in the left-hand menu.
  • Click on “Add New” to create a new page.

  1. Access the content
  • Open the ‘Brunel Insurance: Content Tracker’ sheet from the drive
  • Identify the page you want to upload. You will need to open up both the brief and the written piece
  1. Enter Page Title:
  • In the “Add Title” field, enter the page title. Ensure it’s correctly formatted and uses proper capitalisation.

  1. Add Page Category:
  • On the right hand side of the page, scroll down to ‘categories’ and add in the category for the service you are working on. In this case, it is a ‘personal service page’.

  1. Parent Page & URL Slug
  • Again on the right hand side, add in the URL slug, referencing the page brief for this. 
  • Add in the parent page just underneath this, again, referencing the page brief for this. For this example, the parent page would be ‘Brunel Wealth’

  1. Add Page Content:
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page, here you will find the fields to enter the content.
  • Copy the prepared page content and paste them into the defined fields.
  • Ensure proper formatting (headings, paragraphs, bullet points, etc.).

  • Banner content goes within ‘Personal Insurance Hero Section’
  • Alternating media content goes within ‘Information area 1,2,3’
  • FAQs go within ‘Frequently Asked Questions’
  • The other sections don’t need to be filled in.
  • Make sure to add in the appropriate image for the block (please review image optimisation SOP prior to completing this step)

  1. Set the Featured Image:
  • In the right-hand settings panel, click on “Set featured image.”
  • The featured image should be the same as the banner image used.

  1. Review and Proofread:
  • Use the “Preview” button to view the post as it will appear live.Tjhis will appear at the top right hand side of the page, between the ‘Save draft’ and Yoast buttons. Click this, make sure desktop is selected, then hit preview in new tab.
  • Check for spelling, grammar, formatting issues, and broken links.

  1. Schedule or Publish:
  • If the page looks good and is ready to go live, click “Publish.” in the top right corner.
  • Give the page a final check once it’s live, and if there are any issues, go back and revisit previous steps.
  1. Update Brunel Content Tracker Sheet
  • Take the live link, and add this into the Brunel contant tracking sheet in the appropriate row.
